Hi, here is a message from Eric, Holland.
I have used Google Translate to understand the French text of all the messages.
I am pleased to see the discussions about "changing" classic Vapors into depower.
About 40 people are now busy converting their Vapors into depower...some have finished all work, other have still to start..... : yes, the conversion takes some time !
The Vapor is per definition a stable kite. With depower it becomes even more stable and yes it can handle a larger windrange. It should be possible to cover the windrange of 2-3 "classic" kites.
For recreational riders, converting into depower makes the riding safer and more comfortable. Even my wife Wendy, who always had good fun with her PKD Centuries, changed to depower Vapor and she is really in love with the depower kites.....she has sold all of her Centuries !
It is my personal believe that depower makes the kite safer to ride and yet also faster in racing conditions : downwind you will go much faster then a "classic" Vapor, simply because you can ride a bigger kite.
Yes, it is correct that the latest depower race kites are most likely faster. If you want to race professionally and always win races, then you will need to buy the latest race kites for sure
.
The Vapor depower is raceworthy. It takes practise, like with all other kites.
People that already have Vapors and do not want to spend too much money on the latest depower race kites, the depower Vapor is an excellent alternative.
Please note during the GPA SPO races last year, I was able to win a few races with my Vapor depower 6.5. I was racing against Aero , R1 and Sonic !

The bridles and speed systems are splices and sewed the same way race kites are made. Everything is made at a kite manufacturing company that already produces race kites.
The Vapor itself has very strong bridle attachment points. This means depower bridle is well suited to be installed on the Vapor.
If you need more information on the depower Vapor, please contact me...I am always able to help out !
Give "old skool" Vapors a second life !
